Pain is my Ambition” (146 miles) 5 - 12 March 2012

“Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, an hour, a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, that will last forever.”

My goal is to unite people through our adversities to show we've all been through hardships and have the ability to overcome them no matter the circumstance. I overcame pain by riding brakeless on a fixed bicycle from Bowling Green, Ky. 70 miles to Nashville only with a backpack, two cameras, a notebook and folder of signs for my project. On my journey, I interviewed 54 strangers on the greatest emotional pain they had ever experienced in their lives. This experience was incredibly humbling and made me feel thankful that the general public felt comfortable to discuss their personal tribulations with me.
